I hired Kim for two separate jobs. The first was to deep-clean my basement, which was covered in layers of cobwebs, dust and serious grime – the accumulation of decades. Floors, walls, structural beams, pipes, shelving and individual items all needed cleaning. Kim followed directions perfectly and gave each separate task 1000 percent attention and, I would even say, love. She cleaned my basement with such diligence and care, it was as if it were her own home. Without being told, Kim used a variety of products when necessary – cleaning in stages, each product chosen for its particular benefits – using not only elbow-grease and expertise but judgment.
Unlike many cleaners, Kim doesn’t approach her work mechanically. There is a sharp intelligence at work. She notices nooks and crannies that need cleaning, and without being told, does the work. Her attitude is one of enthusiasm for her work, a wish to make things sparkling-clean and lovely, and a genuine pleasure in pleasing her client.
After my basement turned out cleaner than I thought possible, I hired Kim to vacuum and mop my whole house. Again, she displayed the same perfectionism, careful handling of all breakables (she has a system!), and the most thoughtful attention to each detail. I happened to observe her mopping the small areas of wood on the stairway, on either side of the carpeting. She had already vacuumed, and now she positioned the mop head with precision to give each area of wood a thorough “Kim-style” mopping, all without getting any fluid on the carpeting. In addition, I’ve never seen my living room carpet look so clean and beautiful, its colors so vivid, since the day it was installed.
